Dosa Waffle | Kids friendly Recipe

Dosa Waffle
Dosa waffle is an fusion between South Indian dosa and belgian waffle. As it is loaded with vegetables, it is healthy too. It is an easiest kid friendly recipe. You can serve this for breakfast, dinner or evening snacks time. On a hectic day I made this for breakfast and it came out good. Its my son's favorite. They are crunchy outside and little bit tender inside.

The good thing about this is you can prepare the batter the previous night. And on the next day, just give it a quick mix before making the waffles. This makes your work simpler. You don't want to stand all the time near the dosa pan. And you can aslo make uthappam with the remaining batter.

It goes well with idly podi or tomato ketchup. If you have enough time you can serve with chutney or sambar too. Try this recipe at home and post your valuable comments.

Dosa Waffle

Recipe Cuisine: South Indian, Belgian Fusion | Recipe Category: Breakfast
Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 5 mins | Serves: 2

Ingredients:

Dosa batter - 2 cup
Big onion - 1
Capsicum - 1/2
Carrot - 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves - 2 tblspn
Salt - to taste
Ghee / Sesame Oil - to grease the waffle pan

Method:

Finely chop big onion and capsicum. Cut carrots into thin long strips.

In a large bowl, take dosa batter. Add finely chopped onion, capsicum, carrot, coriander leaves and salt. Mix it properly.

Grease waffle pan with ghee. Pour in dosa batter and close the lid.

Cook until it browns on the top and become crispy. (Check your waffle maker instruction on how to make a waffle). When you see the green light transfer it to a serving plate.

Serve hot with chutney, sambar or tomato ketchup.

Note:
  • If you wish, sprinkle some idly milagai podi on the top.
  • You can also add tomato. It will also taste good with onion alone.
  • Don't make the waffle very thick. Thin waffle tastes good
