Cauliflower Pakoda Recipe
Fritters are not my cup of tea. It all changes when my toddler refuses to eat anything. The greater interest I show on making different recipes, he see them less likely. It is a common thing. Finding what kids eat is a million dollar question to every mom. Do you want kids to have a bite? the answer to your question is FRITTERS. Fritters made with cauliflower, broccoli or anything is called as broccoli chicken, cauliflower chicken by my son.
Crispy Cauliflower Fritters

Cauliflower Pakoda

Prep Time: 10 mins | Cooking Time: 10 mins | Serves: 3

Ingredients:

Cauliflower - 1
Besan flour - 1/4 cup
Corn flour - 1/2 cup
Rice flour - 1/2 cup
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder - as required
Salt - to taste
Water - as required
Oil - to deep fry

Method:

Chop the cauliflower and boil it for 5 mins.

In a large mixing bowl, take cauliflower and all the other ingredients except pepper powder and oil. Combine everything together.

Sprinkle little water and coat the cauliflower with the flour.

Heat oil to deep fry. Place the flour coated cauliflower in hot oil and fry till it becomes crispy.

Drain excess oil and toss well with pepper powder.

Serve with tea.

Note:
  • Just sprinkle little water. It need not be watery.
  • Adjust the spice powders according to taste.
  • After frying I tossed with little pepper powder. This is optional. If you do not want you can increase the amount of chilli powder.

Keep all your ingredients ready
boil the florets
Cut the cauliflower into small florets and boil it for 5 mins
Combine everything
In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients above except pepper powder and oil
Sprinkle little water
Sprinkle little water to coat the florets with flours evenly
Deep fry
In a kadai, heat oil to deep fry. Fry the cauliflower till it becomes crispy
Drain oil
Drain excess oil
toss with pepper
Toss with pepper powder
Crispy Cauliflower Pakoda
Serve with tea!
