Garlic Fried Rice

Ingredients:
Basmati Rice - 2 cups
Garlic - 5
Spring Onion white - 3 tblspn
Vegetables(Carrot, beans) - 1/4 cup,optional
Soy sauce - 1/2 tsp
Vinegar - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli - 4
Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Sesame oil - 2 tblspn
Butter - 1 tsp, optional
To garnish:
Spring onion white - 2 tblspn
Garlic - 2 tblspn, (or more)
Method:
Cross cut a garlic into two halves and finely chop some garlic, carrot, beans and spring onion white.
Heat oil in a pan, add little oil. Add the sliced garlic and fry till it becomes brown and burnt. Transfer to a bowl.
In the same pan, add little butter, spring onion white and broken red chillies. Saute for a minute.
Then, add carrot, beans and stir fry for a couple of minutes. Then add in soy sauce, vinegar, sugar and salt.
To this, add the basmati rice and toss well. Sprinkle black pepper powder, spring onion and toss again. Garnish with burnt garlic.
Serve with Indo Chinese side dish.
Note:
- Add more browned garlic and carrot beans for best result.

Heat the pan, add little oil. Once it becomes hot add the sliced garlic and fry till it turns brown. Keep aside. Finally we will add this on the top |
Now, add the finely chopped garlic |
Add in broken red chillies and spring onion white |
Add some butter. It adds a nice flavor to the dish. Saute for a minute |
Add some carrot and beans. The original recipe does not have any other veggies. This is to optional. But the rice will tastier if you add more carrot beans |
Stir fry for 1 or 2 minutes |
Add in sugar and salt |
little soy sauce |
and some vinegar |
Now, add in the cooked basmati rice and toss well |
Black pepper to taste and toss again. Saute for a minute |
Then add in spring onion green, mix well and put off the flame |
Garnish with the browned garlic. This adds up a nice flavor. You can add more for best result. Serve with any Indo Chinese Side dish! |
