Pepper Chicken Recipe
Try these delicious chicken recipe made with pepper. The taste of freshly ground black pepper along with fennel seeds made this dish heavenly. Throw in some fresh curry leaves to add up taste to this chicken. As i did not have any curry leaves that day i skipped it. But i really love the flavour of curry leaves in my chicken.

Pepper Chicken Recipe

Chicken - 1/2 kg
Onion - 2
Tomato - 1
Green chilli - 3
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tblspn
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1.5 tblspn
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder - 1.5 tblspn
Fennel seeds  - 1 tsp(powdered)
Salt - to taste
Curry leaves - handful
Coriander leaves - to garnish
Oil - 2 tblpn


Grind pepper powder, fennel powder and keep aside. Finely chop onion, tomato and slit the green chilli.

Heat oil in a pan, crackle some mustard seeds. Then add in finely chopped onion, slitted green chillies and curry leaves.

Once onion becomes soft and translucent, add in chopped tomato. Saute for few seconds and add in ginger garlic paste.

Once raw smell of ginger garlic paste is gone, add in washed chicken pieces. Stir fry for 2 minutes.

Then add in chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric and salt to taste. Saute for a minute. Add in 1 cup of water and cover and cook till the water is reduced.

Once the water is reduced, add the ground pepper and fennel powder. Stir fry for 2 to 3 minutes and switch of the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot with rice.


Keep all your ingredients ready
Heat little oil and crackle some mustard seeds
When mustard seeds begin to pop, add in slitted green chillies and finely chopped onion
Once onion becomes soft, add in chopped tomatoes
Add in ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 minute
When the raw smell of ginger garlic paste is gone, add the cleaned chicken pieces.
Stir fry the chicken for 2 minutes
Then add the turmeric powder(Sorry for the blurred image)
Add 1.5 tablespoon of coriander powder
and half teaspoon of chilli powder is added
add salt to taste
Add in 1 teaspoon of garam masala
Saute for a minute or till the raw smell of the spice powder is gone
Add 1 cup of water
Cover and cook with a lid
Once chicken is cooked and the water is reduced
Add the ground pepper and fennel powder. Mix well.
Cook for 2 to 3 minutes and switch off the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves
