Kollu Thugayal

Ingredients:
Splitted Horsegram / Kollu / Kaanam - 1/2 cup
Grated Coconut - 2 tblspn
Red chilli - 6
Garlic - 3
Tamarind - 1/2 inch piece
Curry leaves - a sprig
Salt - to taste
Method:
Take all the ingredients in a mixer and grind it to a coarse powder.
Add 2 to 3 tblspn of water and grind again. Check salt and add if required.
Serve with tamarind rice, vendhaya kuzhambu or plain rice.
Notes:
- Grind to a smooth powder before adding water to it. Once water is added it will be difficult to grind.
- It is a good combo for tamarind based curry.

Take little kollu and keep ready the ingredients for kollu thuvayal |

Take everything in a blender and blend till you smooth powder |

Make sure to grind to a smooth powder before adding water. Once water is added the kollu will not grind properly |
