Spicy Mutton Curry is a no coconut thick gravy which is similar to restaurant recipes. It is full of flavor yet it is very simple dish without much work. It's been a winner in my family. Make this at home and enjoy it with everyone in your family.
Spicy Mutton Curry Without Coconut

Ingredients:
Mutton - 1/2 kg
Potato -1, large
Onion - 2
Tomato - 2
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Black pepper - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Mutton masala - 2 tblspn
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Cloves - 7
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves - to garnish
Method:
Coarsely grind black pepper, cloves and cumin and keep aside. Grind onion into a smooth paste.
Chop the tomatoes and potatoes into small cubes. Wash and clean the meat.
First, heat oil in a pan, add the cubed potatoes and stir fry for 2 mins.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add little chilli powder, cumin and ginger garlic paste.
When the raw smell is gone, add in onion paste. Sauté for 2-3 mins.
Add in remaining chilli powder, ground masala, mutton masala, garam masala, turmeric and salt.
When it starts leave oil on its sides, add the mutton pieces. Mix well to combine till the pieces are finely coated with masala.
Add the shallow fried potatoes and finely chopped tomatoes. cook for 5 mins.
Close with lid and pressure cook for 6 whistles or till the meat is cooked. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with idly, dosa, chapati and rice.

Add 1 cup of water |
Close with lid and pressure cook for 6 whistles or till the meat is cooked. |
Since we are cooking with lid closed for a long time, you will get that closed smell. So cook with lids open for about 5 mins on simmer |
Put off the flame. |
Garnish with coriander leaves. |
