Chilli Prawn Recipe
Chilli fish is my son's favorite. So this time I thought of making with prawn. While making this, my little one was playing with his friend. They all were in a hurry to eat and i was given no time to click photos. So i missed some photos like frying. I was given only 1 minute to click my final photos. But, I was very happy to see them enjoying the food😄.

Chilli Prawn with step by step pictures


Prawn - 1/4 kg

Green chilli - 1, crosscut
Big Onion - 1
Capsicum - 1/2, cubed
Garlic - 1 tblspn
Ginger - 1 tsp
Dry Red chilli - 2
Green chilli sauce - 1 tblspn
Red chilli sauce - 2 tblspn
Soy sauce - 1 tsp
Vinegar - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp (adjust to taste)
Spring Onion - 1 tblspn
Corn flour - 1 tsp
Salt - little
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 2 tblspn

For frying:

Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Corn flour - 3 tblspn
Salt - to taste
Oil - to deep fry


Wash the prawn with turmeric and mix it with pepper powder, corn flour and salt. Deep fry the prawn in hot oil till golden. While frying prawn make sure you don't overcook it. Because prawns will become rubbery if you overcook.

Heat 2 tablespoon of oil in a pan. Add finely chopped ginger, garlic and broken red chilli. Cook till the garlic turns brown.

Add in onion and stir fry for about a minute and add cubed capsicum. Saute for 2 to 3 minutes.

Add in red chilli sauce, green chilli sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, red chilli powder, sugar and salt. Cook for a minute.

Dilute 1 tsp corn flour adding very little water and pour it over the above mixture. This will help to thicken the sauces.

Now, add the fried prawn and toss well. Garnish with spring onion green.

Serve hot!

Ingredients for chilli prawn
Keep all your ingredients ready. I washed the prawn adding turmeric, that is why the yellow colored prawn
add corn flour
Take prawn in a bowl, add in corn flour,
pepper powder
pepper powder and salt. Deep fry the prawn in hot oil. Prawn will not take much time to cook (I missed frying picture) While frying prawn make sure you don't overcook it. Because prawns will become rubbery if you overcook.

Heat oil in a pan. Once it becomes hot, add ginger, garlic and broken red chilli

Saute till garlic turns golden
When garlic turns brown, add in chopped green chilli and onion. Saute for a minute

Cut capsicum into cubes and add to this. Cook for 2 minutes
Now, add green chilli paste, red chilli sauce, soy sauce, sugar and little salt
Add the vinegar
add chilli powder
Add some red chilli powder to taste. If you are preparing for kids, add little chilli powder or skip it
diluted corn flour
Mix corn flour in 2 tblspn of water and add to it. This will help to thicken the sauce
toss with prawn
Add in prawn and toss well
Garnish with spring onion green and put off the flame
