Masala Egg Adai
Masala Egg Adai is my family's favorite. My hubby and brother insist me to do this often. Even my little boy love this. They are good with for Kara kuzhambu. Nobody will resist pulikuzhambu when they have egg adai as side dish. So I mostly prepare this as a side dish for things my family dislikes. Try it soon to enjoy the new level of delicious. Coconut Egg Omelette

Masala Egg Adai

Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 10 mins | Serves: 3 


Egg - 4
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Small onion / Shallots - 10
Red chilli - 5
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Salt - to taste 
Oil - 2 tblspn


Heat few drops of oil and slightly fry red chilli.

Grind together coconut, red chilli, onion and salt without adding water.

In a large bowl, crack the egg and add the ground coconut mixture into it. Whisk it well until everything is combined well.

Heat griddle, add little oil oil and pour a ladleful of egg mixture in it.

When one side is cooked flip it to the other side. When the other side is cooked remove from flame.


  • Red chilli should be slightly roasted in oil to avoid the raw smell.
  • Cooking till it turns brown, otherwise you may feel the raw onion smell.

Keep all your ingredients ready
Crack eggs
Crack the eggs in a large bowl
coconut, onion
In a blender, take coconut, onion, red chilli, turmeric and salt
grind them
Grind them into a coarse paste without adding water
add to egg masala
Add the ground mixture into the egg
whisk it
Whisk it to combine everything.
heat skillet
In a skillet drizzle little oil and pour a ladle full of egg mixture
Let the egg cook for sometimes till the bottom becoming golden brown
Flip it
Flip to cook on the other side
Remove from skillet
When both the sides are cooked remove from the skillet
Transfer it to a serving bowl. It goes well with anything specially pulikuzhambu
