Quick Mutton Gravy for Biryani with Step by Step Pictures
Are you looking for some simple and tasty side dish for biryani? This mutton gravy will satisfy your need. It is very quick one pot dish which even a kid can make. You can adjust the heat depending on your need by adding the chilli powder. Since I made this for biryani, I added little as biryani itself will be spicy.

Quick Mutton Gravy For Biryani

Ingredients:

Mutton - 1/4 kg
Onion - 1 cup
Tomato - 1, large
Green chilli - 3
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tblspn
Chilli powder - 1 tblspn
Coriander powder - 2.5 tblspn
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - a sprig
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tblspn
Ghee - 1 tblspn

Method:

Chop the small onion and tomatoes, slit the green chillies.

Heat oil in a pressure cooker, season with fennel seeds and curry leaves. Wait for a minute.

Then, add the chopped green chilli, followed by chopped small onion. Once onion becomes translucent, add the tomato and stir fry and till it becomes mushy.

Add in ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric and saute till raw smell is gone.

Now, add the mutton pieces and saute for a minute. And add salt to taste and 2 cups of water. Cover with a lid and pressure cook for 8 whistles over medium high flame.

Once pressure releases, check for salt cook for few minutes if required.

Serve with biryani, idli or dosa.

Saute for a minute

Then add the mutton, stir fry for a minute. Add in salt to taste and enough water(1.5 to 2 cups). Cover with a lid and pressure cook for 8 whistles over medium high flame
Easy Bachelors Mutton Gravy Ready
Serve with biryani, idli or dosa.
