Mini Vada Recipe
Channa dal / Kadalai Paruppu - 1/2 cup
Small Onion - 3
Salt - to taste
Oil - to deep fry
Ginger - small piece
Garlic - 4
Fennel seeds / Perumjeeraham - 1 tsp
Red Chilli - 2
Soak Channa dal for 2 hours. Drain the water and grind it to a coarse paste without adding water. Transfer it to a bowl.
Now grind the ginger, garlic, fennel seeds and red chilli. Add this to the ground Channa dal along with chopped onion and salt.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan, drop a small gooseberry sized ball.
When it turns golden brown color, transfer it to a serving plate.
Serve with hot tea.

|Grind red chilli, garlic, fennel seeds and ginger into a coarse paste|
|Soak dal for 2 hours|
|Drain the water, take them in a blender and coarsely grind them along with ground chilli ginger garlic paste|
|Take the dal in a bowl and add chopped onions and salt to taste|
|Make small balls and keep aside|
|Heat oil to deep fry, carefully drop the balls in it|
|When one side is cooked turn to the other side to cook|
|When it becomes slightly brown remove from oil|
