Spicy Potato Roast

Baby Potato - 15
Onion - 2 or 1
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Curd - 3 tblspn
Coriander powder - 3 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tblspn
To grind:
Coconut - 2 tblspn
Green chilli - 3
Poppy seeds - 1 tsp
Cardamom - 3
Black pepper - 1 tsp
Cinnamon - 1 stick
Cloves - 4
Method:
Boil the baby potatoes and peel its skin once cooled. Prick the potatoes on all sides with the help of a spoon.
Grind all the ingredients listed under "to grind" into a coarse powder.
Heat oil in a pan, add ginger garlic paste. Once raw smell is gone, add the chopped onion.
When the onion turns translucent, add the spice powders. Stir fry for a minute to get rid of the raw smell.
Add the baby potatoes, ground masala, salt and saute for a couple of minutes.
Then, add the curd and half a cup of water. Cook for 5 minutes or till it becomes dry.
Serve with sambar and rice or with chapati.

Note:
- The consistency can be either dry or semi gravy.
- You can reduce cardamom, pepper and cloves if you don't want it very spicy

and grind into a coarse powder and keep it aside |

To this, add the chopped onion and stir fry till it becomes soft |
Now, add coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder and turmeric. Saute for 1 to 2 mins |
Add in the potatoes and saute for a minute to mix with the masala |
Then add the ground masala and saute for 2 mins |
Add in salt to taste |
3 tablespoon of curd is added |
Mix well |
Add 1/2 cup of water and bring it to boil |
Once it is reduced, put off the flame. You can serve it either dry or semi gravy consistency. |
Serve with rice and sambar or with chapati |
