Prep Time: 2 mins | Cooking Time: 15 mins | Serves: 3 to 4
Ingredients:
Raw Plaintain - 2
Onion - 1, optional
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Sambar powder - 1/2 tsp, optional
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Oil - 1 tblspn
Method:
Cook the plaintain for 3 whistles or till its outer skin comes out.Chop the cooked banana into small cubes.
In a kadai, heat 1 tablespoon of oil. When oil becomes hot, add mustard seeds and urad dal.
Once mustard seeds starts to splutter, add the sliced onion. Saute till it becomes soft.
Then, add the chopped plaintain cubes and stir fry for 1 minute.
Add in sambar powder, chilli powder, turmeric and salt to taste. Stir fry for 2 to 3 minutes and put off the flame.
Serve with rice and your favorite curry.
Note:
- You can skip adding onion.
- Adding sambar powder is optional.

Saute for 2 to 3 minutes and put off the flame |
