Mazedar chicken is a hot and slightly sour special chicken recipe. It is made with blanched onion, tomato and chilli paste. It pairs excellent with rasam rice and chapati. Few of the restaurants have this in their menu. It tastes quiet different with a slight tangy flavour. Trust me, its really worth the try. Just try this super simple recipe in your home. It is can be made in a jiffy.

Mazedar Chicken

Recipe Cuisine: East Indian | Recipe Category: Non veg dry / Chicken
Prep Time: 10 mins | Cooking Time: 25 mins | Serves: 3

Ingredients:

Chicken - 250 gm
Onion - 2
Tomato - 1
Green chilli - 3
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Garlic cloves - 4
Black pepper powder - 1 tblspn
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 2 tblspn
Salt - to taste
Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
Coriander leaves - to garnish
Oil - 3 tblspn

Method:

In a vessel, take chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, little water and bring it to boil. Once cooked, cool down and grind it to a smooth paste.

In a pan, heat little oil and add ginger garlic paste, chilli powder and sauté for 15 seconds.

Add in chicken pieces, salt to taste and sauté for a minute. Then add the grinded paste and cook till oil separates.

Then, add in pepper powder, curry leaves, lemon juice. Once done, add the chopped coriander leaves.

Serve hot with rasam rice, biryani, pulav or chapati.

Keep all your ingredients ready

Roughly chop onion, tomato and green chilli. Make ginger garlic paste

After 5 minutes, add in pepper powder, curry leaves.

Once done, add the chopped coriander leaves.

Cook for some time

Once it becomes dry and cooked witch off the flame
Mazedar Chicken Ready
Serve hot with rasam rice, biryani, pulav or chapati.
