Fish fingers are an irresistible delight that kids absolutely adore. In this delectable preparation, tender fish pieces are delicately coated in breadcrumbs, infused with subtle spices, and expertly deep-fried to achieve a delightful crunch. Whenever we dine out, my son's top choice is always breaded fish and chicken, which he gleefully pairs with mayo and tomato ketchup. To satisfy his cravings, I frequently prepare this treat at home. Presented below is the recipe for these delightful finger fish :)

Fish Finger

Recipe Cuisine:  Indian | Recipe Category: Non veg/ Sea food
Prep Time: 5 mins | Marination Time: 30 mins | Cooking Time: 10 mins | Serves: 3

Ingredients:

For marination:
Fish fillet - 250 gm( I used Tilapia)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
Soy sauce - 1/2 tsp (or use lemon juice)
Salt - to taste
Oil - little for frying

To Coat:
Egg - 1
Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - a pinch
Bread crumbs - as required
(Alternatively u can replace egg with rice flour, Maida or corn flour)

Method:

Cut the fish fillets into long bite sized strips.

In a mixing bowl, combine the fish strips with ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, pepper powder, soy sauce, salt and rub thoroughly. Marinate the fish for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, crack an egg in a bowl, and add in chilli powder, pepper powder, salt and whisk it till it is combined.

Dip the marinated fish in egg mixture and drip off the excess. Finally put the egg smeared fish in bread crumbs and coat evenly.

Heat oil in a pan, and fry the coated fish in medium flame till golden brown.

Drain excess oil and serve with mayonnaise or tomato ketchup. Enjoy!

Notes:

  • You can replace soy sauce with lemon juice.
  • You can also replace egg with flours.

After 30 minutes, crack an egg in a bowl, and add in pepper powder

add in chilli powder, salt and whisk it till it is combined.

Dip the marinated fish in egg mixture and drip off the excess.

You can also replace egg with flours. this is optional. but i prefer egg

Heat oil in a pan, and fry the coated fish in medium flame till golden brown.

When i tasted fish finger with flour coated and egg coated, the one with egg mixture tasted really very good

Fry the remaining fingers the same way
