Masala Peanut

Ingredients:
Peanut / Groundnut - 1 cup
Besan flour / Kadalai Maavu - 1/4 cup plus 1 tblspn
Rice flour - 2 tblspn
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp, optional
Garlic crushed - 1 1/2 tsp
Water - as required
Salt - to taste
Curry leaves - a sprig
Oil - to deep fry
Method:
If you are using raw peanut, slightly roast them for 2 mins in low to medium flame.
In a large mixing bowl, take peanuts. Add gram flour, rice flour, chillli powder, asafoetida, crushed garlic, curry leaves and salt to this and combine everything together.
Sprinkle little water and mix it till all the peanuts are properly coated with the masala.
Heat oil over medium flame, add in the coated peanuts and fry till it is done.
Enjoy!
Note:
- It may be soft immediately after frying and will taste good once cooled.
- Do not coat with too much flours.
- Adding crushed garlic and curry leaves will add a nice flavor to the peanut.
- Rice flour is added to make it crispy. Too much of rice flour will make it hard.
