I always wanted to post food that taste great and make you all feel good. So I'm striving hard to post some good recipes. Today we are going to see raw plantain poriyal. It's a very simple and easy stir fry recipe. And it will be worthwhile. I hope you will like it. Please post your views as comments.
Vazhaikai Poriyal
Recipe Cuisine: South Indian | Recipe Type: Side dish
Prep Time: 10 mins | Cooking Time: 10 mins | Serves: 3
Ingredients:
Raw Plantain - 1
Onion - 1
Turmeric - a pinch
Salt - as needed
To Grind:
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Cumin - 1 tsp
Red chilli - 3 or 4
To Temper:
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - a sprig
Oil - 1 tsp
Method:
Grind the ingredients listed under "to grind" without adding water.
Pressure cook raw banana for 2-3 whistles. After boiling, peel its skin and cut them into small cubes.
Heat oil, add in mustard seeds. When it splutters add in curry leaves and raw plantain. Sauté for a min.
Add in ground coconut masala, turmeric and salt. Sauté for 2-3 mins and remove from flame.
Serve.

Grind coconut, cumin and red chilli. You can replace dry chilli with powder |
Pressure cook raw plaintain for 2 to 3 whistles |
Once pressure is release, peel it skin and cut them into cubes |
Heat a pan. Drizzle little oil. Once oil becomes hot, add in mustards. When mustards pop add curry leaves |
Add in onion |
When onion turns translucent, add the cubed plantain and saute for a min |
After a min, add the ground coconut masala |
turmeric and salt |
Stir fry for 3 mins and remove from flame |
Serve! |
