Pazham Pori Recipe | Pazham Bajji | Ethakka Appam | Nendran Banana Fritters

I am really very happy to share my first video. I have planned to post some short cooking videos in the coming days. I will improve the quality of my videos in future. Today's recipe is pazham pori which is similar to stuffed banana fritters which I shared earlier. Pazham pori is a simple deep fried snack made using ripe nendran pazham. I don't know whether any other banana will work good on this recipe since I have seen, tasted and tried only using this variety.

Pazham Pori

Recipe Cuisine: Keralite | Recipe Category: Snacks
Prep Time: 5 mins | Cooking Time: 10 mins | Serves: 4

Ingredients:

Nendran pazham / Ethanpazham(riped) - 3
Maida flour - 1 cup
Rice flour - 1 tsp (optional)
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Baking soda - a pinch
Sugar - 1 tblspn
Salt - to taste
Water - 3/4 cup
Oil - to deep fry

Method:

Peel the skin of banana and slit lengthwise into 2 pieces. If it too long slit them into 4 pieces.

In a large bowl, combine maida, rice flour, turmeric, baking soda, salt and sugar. Add water and make a smooth batter.

Heat oil in a frying pan. Once it becomes hot, dip the slit banana into the batter and fry them into golden color.

Transfer it to a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Serve hot. Enjoy!
